At St Stephen's, Design and Technology aims to stimulate creativity and imagination. D&T is essentially a practical subject that allows children to become effective problem solvers, both as individuals and as part of a team. Our aim is to provide children with a rich and enjoyable experience of Design and Technology, in which they can acquire and develop their own designing, making and evaluating skills.
At St Stephen's , we encourage children’s artistic development from EYFS through to Year 6. We look for cross-curricular links with other subjects to embed children’s learning further.
The Art and Design curriculum has been designed to actively engage and stimulate children’s natural creativity whilst developing a range of high quality skills in drawing, painting and sculpture. This leads children to become competent and confident in these skills. Children are appropriately challenged and supported to ensure they reach their full potential within the arts.
